Python Job: Software Developer

Job Description:

A vacancy for a Software Developer (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

We develop top notch, high fidelity Engineering and Training Simulations for a variety of aircraft, supporting the entire development life cycle. At the core, our Simulations are distributed real-time applications. We are looking for a Software Developer with a proven track record in international projects. You will develop complex C++ (software) components representing aircraft subsystems.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Design the architecture of software models and components for new simulator functionality

• Develop simulation models (C++) representing aircraft equipment and sub-/systems

• Create and perform unit tests of simulation models and modules (C++ / Python)

• Create tools for improving our development processes (e.g. code generators)

• Perform integration and acceptance testing

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a comparable engineering subject

• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience required

• Extensive experience in Software design and development

• Excellent C++ skills

• Experience in distributed systems would be beneficial

• QT5 Framework (in particular C++ & QML)

• Scripting languages (Bash, Python)

• Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Sonarqube, Nexus)

• Linux

• ADA

• Git

• Communication protocols & Frameworks (e.g. GRPC, ZeroMQ, NATS, ICE; Protocol Buffers...)

• Aircraft / Defense Industry experience would be beneficial

• Proactivity is key

• Analytical structured thinking

• Capability to work independently

• English negotiation level
